Regional Šumava Tasting Package – 100% Local Products
At our pension, we do our best to support local Šumava producers and their products. With your stay, you have the opportunity to enjoy the very best of what is grown and made here.
We offer a Šumava tasting package – or, if you like, a ready-made “fridge fill”. The package includes only products made in the Šumava region: all-natural, with no additives or preservatives. Our suppliers are small family businesses, and we ourselves are regular customers of theirs.
How does it work?
A few days before your arrival, you will receive an e-mail with practical information about your stay. In that e-mail you will also find the option to order the tasting package.
To guarantee freshness and quality, packages can be delivered only on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday afternoons. For organisational reasons, we cannot prepare packages for specific days in the morning.
The package will certainly last you more than just one breakfast or dinner. Please note that the tasting package cannot be ordered when you first book your stay, as the exact selection depends on the season and product availability.

More about our suppliers
Šumavská mlékárna (milk & dairy products)
Šumavská mlékárna is part of Šumavský Statek Dlouhá Ves near Sušice. Each day around 800 litres of milk from Czech Red Pied cattle is processed here. The cows are given seasonal pasture and individual care – every cow even has her own name! This results in high-quality milk and an ever-growing variety of dairy products.
Slepičí farma Opálka (eggs)
Run by Pavel Šilhavý in the village of Opálka. The hens are free-range and live in a natural rhythm, just as they did in the past. They are fed only with grains, with no additives or medication. Feeding and egg collection is done entirely by hand. The farm also keeps ducks and geese.
Rodinná včelařská farma Tomanovi, Nýrsko (Šumava honey)
Mr. Ladislav Toman has been a beekeeper since 1974 and a teacher of beekeeping since 1982. He also specialises in queen breeding. His honey production includes blossom, mixed, honeydew and creamed honey. With 150 hives located in the Šumava foothills and within the Šumava Protected Landscape Area, his honey is certified organic.
Turnerova Chata, Rejštejn (hand-picked Šumava blueberries)
Turnerova Chata is the only publicly accessible chalet in Zone I of the Šumava National Park, on the banks of the Vydra River between Antýgl and Čeňkova Pila. From the surrounding forests they hand-pick mushrooms and berries, which are then turned into delicious regional products. Their jams are made from Šumava wild fruit – blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and more – with no preservatives or artificial colours. With their high fruit content, they meet the strict criteria for the label “extra jam”.
