This is what brings our guests back. During the day you meet in the shared rooms – you cook, the children play, and in the evening you sit by the fireplace or the fire pit under the stars. And when somebody needs to rest or put small children to bed, they have an apartment of their own, with its own kitchen and bathroom, to retreat to in peace. Nobody is in anyone's way and nobody is on their own. Exactly what a holiday together should be like.

With small children you will feel at home
We really are baby-friendly – not just on paper. An outdoor playground, an indoor children's corner and plenty of the equipment you are glad of with small children: cots, high chairs, children's crockery and furniture, potties and step stools. You need not worry about children being too loud or too tearful – when you rent the house whole, it is only you and your group here. Parents get their first proper rest in a long time, because the children are happy and always close by.
We are part of a farm – horses and a lavender meadow minutes from the house
We are not just somewhere to stay, we are a family farm. We grow grain and we keep horses. A few minutes' walk from the house you will find not only the paddocks but our lavender meadow, which you are free to walk through – and to taste our home-made lavender syrup. Children can go and watch the horses and treat them to an apple or a carrot, and we can arrange a ride out into the Šumava countryside. And when there is work going on in the fields, we are happy to take small (and large) curious visitors along in the tractor or the combine. The kind of thing children and adults remember for a long time.
Half on its own by the woods, looking out at the mountains
The house stands at the edge of the small village of Hodousice near Nýrsko, in the Šumava foothills. It is the last house in the village – beyond it there is only the track to the horses, the woods and the meadows. Woods on one side, meadows on the other with a view of the Czech and the German mountains. The garden runs straight out into the wide meadow that belongs to us. Clean Šumava air and quiet, and yet plenty of day trips you can manage even with the youngest children. That combination is what guests praise most: quiet, stillness and beautiful country far from the tourist crowds — and the best-known places to visit only a short drive away. Not an easy thing to find elsewhere.

We are not an anonymous place to stay. We are the Hrabě family and we live in the house next door – so we are close at hand whenever you need us, and you still have the house entirely to yourselves. We will suggest places to go nearby, lend you mountain bikes with child seats, and on request put together a Šumava tasting basket of local produce. We do everything we can to make your stay a good one. It is no accident that guests come back to us again and again.
