About the place
Velký Javor (Großer Arber) is the highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest and makes a family outing in summer and winter alike. The whole site is step-free, so you can come with a pushchair — unusual on a mountain of this height.
- Navigation
- Arber Bergbahn Talstation, Bayerisch Eisenstein. There is a restaurant and a small playground at the bottom station.
- Getting up
- A six-person gondola, which takes a pushchair.
- At the top
- A panoramic lift down to the Eisensteiner Hütte — two restaurants and a wooden playground with a view.
- The summit circuit
- About 2 km, suitable for pushchairs, steeper in places. The views from the top are breathtaking.
- Großer Arbersee
- A 2 km circuit, the Arberseehaus restaurant, and pedalos in summer.
