About the place
The Hohenbogen is a ridge in the Bavarian Forest some 8 km long, and one of the nearest places in Bavaria for a family outing. The summit is 1 079 m.
- Getting up
- By vintage two-seat chairlift. You can walk, but the hill is steep, especially for small children.
- At the top
- A lookout tower, a mountain inn, and a NATO station you can look at from the outside as a curiosity.
- The views
- Arber, Osser, Kaitersberg and Voithenberg. In good weather you can see as far as the Alps.
- For children
- A 750 m toboggan run with 16 bends. A few smaller attractions by the bottom station.
- In winter
- A small ski area — ideal for children and beginners.
